The first step.... taping off a line about 3' from the floor. The bottom of the walls are blue and the top will be green to go with the turtle themed border and bedding we have (thanks H&D!).

This was the end of the day on Sunday. We had a bunch of other things to do and my back was getting pretty bad so I decided to let everything dry and go back another day to fill in with the rollers.

The roller stage was today, of course it went a lot faster than the brush part - especially since I was using a 1" brush. I did two coats and of course it was raining by the time I put up the second coat so it's going to take a while to dry. It's a hard room to photograph too. But I think these pictures give a pretty good idea of what it looks like. I'm thankful (while painting) that there isn't a lot of wall surface to the room. Really there are only two full walls in the room, the third has the big window and the fourth has the door and the closet. So it's been pretty easy to paint and tape. I'm sure I won't be saying the same thing next week when it comes to placing the furniture.
Up next will be taping off the top edge of the blue area and painting in the green portion. I'm hoping to do the wallpaper border myself too, it will be lined up along the edge line where the two paint colors meet. Let's hope I can figure out how to do that before the furniture delivery! If not, I'm sure E will be able to move things around for me. Oh and see that brown cabinet that is peeking it corners into the first two pictures? That is being donated to the Salvation Army - they're coming to pick it up next week. Again, I was hoping to time that with the crib and dresser delivery, but if it doesn't work out that way we'll just move the cabinet into the hall to await its pick up. All in all things are moving right along!
