Shower of Gifts

Speaking of washing clothes and putting things away, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the state of our living room at the moment. To say everyone has been super generous is an understatement. Between my baby shower two weekends ago and gifts arriving at the house, we are almost completely ready for the baby. At least gear-wise!

So here is the group of gifts we were able to fit into our car after the shower.  My mom took the rest and brought them down on the Tuesday after the shower.  I believe this picture was before I went through everything to show E what we received, since he left during the shower and spent time with his step-dad and a friend.  Notice Dragon enjoying the sun in the foyer - she's not very interested in all the baby stuff.

Now, Jett on the other hand is always interested in everything.  Here he is investigating one of the bags of gifts.  

Isn't this octopus chair adorable???  I can't wait to get it in the baby's room.  I'd love to sit in it myself but I don't think I'd ever get back up again.  My aunt and uncle gave this to us - they always find such unique gifts.  Of course they promised that once the baby comes then the "million piece" and "noisy" gifts will commence.  Mom was happy to hear that, since that's what they did to her with me.

I registered for these bibs and they are just as cute in person as they were online!

Here is the gift pile growing.  The first set (that we were able to bring home ourselves) is on the left of the picture.  The pile on the right is what Mom brought down.  And that included the octopus chair, which was very cute sitting in her passenger seat!

And just in case you couldn't get the feel for the room, lol, here is what it looks like from above.  There are a few gifts not included here also - the stroller and car seat combo are out in the garage, as well as the pack and play we registered for.  

And my MIL gave us this awesome diaper cake that she made, but I've been keeping it on the dining room table in order to discourage a certain cat from ripping the whole thing apart.

And I know I said Dragon isn't very interested in the gifts, but I just went in the living room and found her like this.  Evidently she was inspired by the baby tub because she was washing herself right next to it.  Unfortunately, this is the clearest picture I could get before she finished up.

Whew.  There's more too - items that I've already started to put away.  But this definitely gives you a good idea of the state of things around here!  I only have two items to return - they were duplicates - and I'll be doing that on Friday.  I also am planning on getting the swing I registered for tomorrow with a coupon (that expires tomorrow), using one of the many gift cards we received.  Other than a few teeny other odds and ends I'd say we're well prepared with stuff at this point.  Now to get it all put away and where it belongs!
